Velo Vision free small ads - add or remove
This free small ads service is increasingly popular and effective - but also costs money and time to host and administer. If you sell or buy something on these pages, please do consider supporting the business behind it by subscribing to Velo Vision Magazine if you don't already. You'll enjoy the read, too!
Moderated small ads:
Unfortunately, due to a constant barrage of spam advertising, some of it obscene, I've had to change the small ads system from one which posts your ads automatically to one in which adverts are queued for approval. I'll approve or block adverts as I see fit whenever I check the queue, usually a couple of times a day.
This means that your advert WILL NOT APPEAR IMMEDIATELY once you've posted it! Don't panic! It will be queued for approval and that might take 24 hours, or more if I'm away at a trade show or at weekends/holidays.
Please post only cycling-related private sales and wants here. Off-topic ads will be blocked.
Any unauthorised commercial postings will be blocked including cycling ones: this is necessary to protect the interests of the paying advertisers who support this business. Commercial advertisers can find more information here.
If your ad doesn't appear it may be because I've deleted it by accident - often I have to pick the real ones out of several hundred spam. Please email me if this happens.
Posting your advert
Post your ad using the form below
I strongly advise you NOT to include your 'plain' email address unless spam messages don't bother you. You may instead want to put 'None' as your email, or obfuscate your email address, to prevent it being 'harvested' by automated systems used by spammers and scammers. Just giving a phone number, and no email address, will cut out 99.9% of this.
HTML and links are disabled in the advert text, and the maximum text length is 1024 characters. However you can use < br > (remove the spaces) tags to add line breaks to your ad.
Remember that it's very helpful for potential buyers if you include your location (country, city) when posting an advert. This site gets readers from around the world.
When you hit 'submit' to post your ad you'll be given a removal code. PLEASE NOTE IT DOWN, and also the email address which you gave when posting the advert. To delete the ad later you'll need to enter these exact same details.
Adverts expire automatically after 28 days. If your item is still unsold, feel free to repost it.
After you've posted the ad
Be patient while your ad is queued for approval. I'll appear in due course and run for 28 days.
Unfortunately, sites like this are targetted by con-artists and spammers. You can expect to receive many dodgy emails, especially with 'for sale' ads but also 'wanted's. Just hit delete if you think a reply is suspicious. Offers of (or requests for) payment by cashiers' cheque, by third parties, Western Union or shipping agents are dead give-aways - just hit delete. Be especially cautious dealing with international traders - or just hit delete.
Some advice on scams and how to recognise them is available at, for example, these UK government websites: from the DTI, from the OFT, from the Home Office and from the Metropolitan Police.
Note that any transactions are the responsibility of the seller and buyer, and Velo Vision takes NO responsibility for any matters which result from contacts made via this service.
